Hotel Santa Barbara Hosts a Very Merry 1st Thursday Event with Performances by The Adelfos Ensemble
Hotel Santa Barbara will open its doors to celebrate the holiday season with an evening of festive choral music, food and drink, Thursday, December 5 for A Very Merry 1st Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.
On the 1st Thursday of every month, downtown Santa Barbara businesses open their doors to the public to showcase local art and culture, featuring visual and performing art, live music, wine tastings, and more.
In the hotel lobby, located at 533 State Street, 1st Thursday attendees will enjoy a live performance by the mixed-voice chamber choir, Adelfos Ensemble. The Ensemble will sing selections from their upcoming holiday concert along with traditional Christmas carols throughout the evening. Local restaurant Mezza Thyme will serve small bites dedicated to their Mediterranean roots and Sanford Winery will pour world-class wines from their Santa Rita Hills vineyards.
“Adelfos is excited to bring our latest repertoire of songs to Hotel Santa Barbara this holiday season,” shared Temmo Korisheli, artistic director of the Ensemble. “In addition to singing songs from our upcoming holiday concert, small groups from the Ensemble will also be performing traditional Christmas carols which are always a crowd favorite.”
This will be one of the first times that the 25-person ensemble will be performing outside of a normal concert setting. The large ensemble will bring an impressive sound and experience to Hotel Santa Barbara’s lobby.
The event begins at 5 pm with food and drink, with carols beginning at 5:30 pm. The full Adelfos Ensemble will perform from 6:15-6:45 pm.
Hotel Santa Barbara will be also be providing room tours during the evening to showcase the newly renovated guest bathrooms.
“We are looking forward to filling the lobby with the voices of Adelfos” said Jennie Jacobs, Director of Sales and Marketing at Hotel Santa Barbara. “Our lobby will be fully decorated for the holidays, including our famous 12’ Christmas tree. And with the addition of wine tasting by Sanford Wines and some delicious food from Mezza Thyme, we are sure to have a festive evening.”
Guests are encouraged to visit the shops at Hotel Santa Barbara as they stay open late for unique holiday shopping. Hotel Santa Barbara gift shop, Asher Market, and natural fiber clothing store, Marcel Hemp, will have their doors open late. Stabiles will also be inviting guests through its doors at 527 State Street to celebrate 7 years of business with photography and art displays, curated products, cocktails and 20% off from 4-7 pm.
The event is open to the public and all ages are welcome.
Hotel Santa Barbara encourages visitors to try street parking or the public parking lot #11 located at 523 Anacapa Street.
