Driving times vary but generally we are about 2 hours by car from Los Angeles, and 1½ hours from San Luis Obispo. Drive time from San Francisco is about 6 hours. Santa Barbara has many one-way streets. Hotel Santa Barbara is on the corner of State and Cota streets which allow traffic in two directions. Valet parking is immediately behind building off of Cota.
Note: Most Tuesday afternoons the Downtown Farmer’s Market closes down several blocks of State Street. Please enter the hotel parking lot from Cota using Chapala Street.
Arriving from Highway 101 Northbound
Exit at the Garden Street off ramp. Turn right onto Garden Street and drive two blocks to Cota Street. Turn left onto Cota Street and drive three blocks to State Street. Cross State Street and immediately turn left into the parking lot behind Hotel Santa Barbara. A valet attendant will assist you.
Arriving from Highway 101 Southbound
Exit at the Carrillo Street off ramp. Turn left onto Carrillo Street and drive four blocks to State Street. Turn right onto State Street and drive four blocks to Cota Street. Turn right onto Cota Street and immediately left into the parking lot behind Hotel Santa Barbara. A valet attendant will assist you.
Airport
The Santa Barbara Municipal Airport is located 12 miles from the hotel. Various taxi services are available at the airport to provide transportation to and from the hotel.
Train Station
The AMTRAK train station is located just 4 blocks from the hotel. The Pacific Surfliner is a wonderful way to get away to Santa Barbara from either north or south.
