'Chicago Parent' Features Hotel Santa Barbara in Cruising the California Cost with Kids

Recently Chicago Parent writer Cortney Fries featured Hotel Santa Barbara in her article titled Cruising the California coast with kids.

In the article, Cortney and her family start their road trip in Santa Cruz, California, ending in beautiful Santa Barbara. The family made the most of their stay in Santa Barbara with some really kid friendly activities all while staying at Hotel Santa Barbara, located in the heart of downtown.

Cortney’s take on Hotel Santa Barbara: “Hotel Santa Barbara is a historic hotel in easy walking distance to shopping, dining, the beach and wharf. Built in 1925, Hollywood elite like Clark Gable used to hang out here. Now you slide the same Otis elevator door and savor fresh, local pastries in the lobby in the mornings.”

Some of our SB favorites from her trip include:

  • Horseback riding at Circle Bar B Guest Ranch

  • Take a four-person bike ride along the Santa Barbara waterfront

  • Enjoying wood fire pizzas at Lucky Penny in the Funk Zone
